<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Every runner, including the world's fastest man this year, was disqualified in a bizarre 400 metres heat that made athletics history on the second day of the world indoor championships on Friday.
Bralon Taplin was among the casualties after appearing to qualify for the semi-finals later on Friday by winning the third heat comfortably in 46.37 seconds.

Another runner, Qatar's 2017 world outdoor bronze medallist Abdalelah Haroun, was earlier red carded for false starting in the same heat.
It is the first time every athlete has been disqualified from a heat at a major championships, according to statistician Mark Butler.

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Grenada officials launched an appeal, but it was rejected, as was that for Costa Rica's Nery Brenes, who was disqualified from a later heat, also for a lane infringement.

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Halfway through the hardest mile of his life, Paul Robinson, a world class athlete from Ireland, was struck by a troubling thought.
“I was like, Holy f***, I don’t know how I’m going to get to the end,” he said. “My legs were going to jelly, and I had this drone following me. I was like, I can’t hit the deck; I have to finish because I’m not doing this again.”
It was November 25 on Union Glacier in Antarctica, and the 26-year-old was dashing through the snow on his way to the fastest mile ever run on the frozen continent: 4:17.9. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtFYOPeksD3x2vU4-IbkqkLfRCSkYRybSyy1u9LVUL45lNSJWi84j8vSA26yODS1x3AU8mMJ5_FipIq_ju8bQPDZeWSh2q2lY5TGozePQCwq4OyLyqImqXs-g4HlMicoCiEQn7Ib1LwSXn/s1600/run-antartica.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="254" data-original-width="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtFYOPeksD3x2vU4-IbkqkLfRCSkYRybSyy1u9LVUL45lNSJWi84j8vSA26yODS1x3AU8mMJ5_FipIq_ju8bQPDZeWSh2q2lY5TGozePQCwq4OyLyqImqXs-g4HlMicoCiEQn7Ib1LwSXn/s1600/run-antartica.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">To get there, Robinson set off from his home in Kilcock, Ireland, last Monday, traveling for three days before he touched down on the remote glacier.
The idea was the brainchild of Richard Donovan, an Irish ultrarunner who organizes the Antarctic Ice Marathon each year. Robinson, who has a best of 3:35.22 for 1500 meters (equivalent to a 3:52 mile), was in the middle of base training at the time but figured this was too good to turn down.
“It’s still my ultimate goal to go to the Olympics, but it’s good not to be boxed into elite athletics,” he said. “The general public is always able to associate with a mile and no one has ever run a fast one down there. This was a great way to show how cool it is to run a four-minute mile.” </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> The distance was measured four times using a GPS satellite before the race, and Robinson slept in a small tented village alongside runners who were taking on the marathon last weekend. “It was like stepping on the moon,” he said. “There was snow everywhere. It was absolutely freezing, and the wind feels like it’ll take you a mile down the road if you jump.”
The nights before the race Robinson hunkered down in a thick sleeping bag and tried his best to get some sleep despite the continuous daylight. “You wake up,” he said, “and your nose is freezing.”
The camp they stayed in was tiny, and going for a walk was a no-go. “There were crevasses all around, and if you go down one of those,” he said, “you’re not coming back.”
Unlike the marathon, which was run around a 10K loop, Robinson’s mile was run in a straight line across a plateau between two mountains. “It was like a snow desert,” he said. “You can’t even see a mile in front. You’re literally just running into white.”</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> While warming up for the race, Robinson wore three pairs of running tights, several layers on his upper body, and a massive jacket—yet he was still cold. Accounting for wind chill, the temperature was -13° Fahrenheit.
“You just cannot get warm,” he said. “The wind was beating off my face and it was just wild.”
For the race, Robinson stripped down to a single pair of running tights, one body warmer, and his racing vest along with a single pair of socks inside his racing spikes.
“I went off to see how fast I could run and when you’re used to that, you’re used to going four-minute mile pace,” he said. “The snow wasn’t deep, but it was energy-sapping, like running on sand. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Your foot is going two or three inches into the snow on every step.”
When he crossed the line, he said, “your lungs feel like they’re going to explode.”
The morning after the race, Robinson and Donovan managed to get off the glacier on an early flight before an arriving blizzard. It was three days later before he arrived back in Ireland, convinced that races like this can be more than just a novelty for the sport.
“Could you imagine 10 guys running down a course like that in the Winter Olympics?” he said. “It’d make great viewing.”
And one final question for the slowly defrosting miler: Would he consider returning to Antarctica someday to take on the marathon?
“Nah, nah,” he said quickly. “No chance.”

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> The run, according to Calderan, was designed to make a statement about the limitless possibilities about the human mind and spirit, the importance of food and water and the necessity of exercise during the Holy Month of Ramadan by running and walking as many kilometers as possible in the hours between Suhoor and Iftar, all while fasting.
According to Calderan, the trek - which began at 3:56 AM and ended at 7:07 PM on Friday - was "very tough".
"The main difficulty was finding the capability to manage the increasing temperatures and distance in kilometers in relation to increasing dehydration," he explained. "It's like an algorithm, the management of the body." </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEV2wvVRRapSM9Ijlqep_80KFWtpcCVMMrzMxtEIrgSDdGeyxdw76f7ooRuoXeYwLIVFtu7mIBqXhZ9CiIPEeD_xrNo9vdZs06n1pTWzpKKq-fMiOo8ReQAxBCsGn4a7mxwBNZay4YHXs/s1600/max-calderan-fasting.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEV2wvVRRapSM9Ijlqep_80KFWtpcCVMMrzMxtEIrgSDdGeyxdw76f7ooRuoXeYwLIVFtu7mIBqXhZ9CiIPEeD_xrNo9vdZs06n1pTWzpKKq-fMiOo8ReQAxBCsGn4a7mxwBNZay4YHXs/s1600/max-calderan-fasting.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> Despite the difficulties and extreme heat - which hovered at approximately 50 degrees Celsius in the afternoon - Calderan said he felt reinvigorated by the end of the journey.
"I was surprised.once I arrived at the end, I was tired, but yet my body was still full of energy. It was like going through a full-body cleanse," he noted. "I wasn't as thirsty or hungry as I thought I would be. I was just having some difficulty talking because my mouth was so dry."
"The first hour was worse than the final run," he added. "When I finished the run, I drank a half liter of lemon mint without sugar. I wasn't hungry at all, and I didn't eat anything until the following day. My body told me I was okay, and my mind was working at 1,000 kilometers a minute." </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> During the event, four other athletes and one of their sons, a six-year old who accompanied Calderan and his father for the last kilometer, accompanied Calderan at various intervals.
Calderan told Khaleej Times that he hopes that the event - along with other similarly arduous feats of endurance he's accomplished in the past - show that anything is possible, with proper planning and mindset.
"We can really push (our) limits to unexpected places, because they don't exist, except when we don't try do something," he said. "The combination of training and fasting, done properly, is something that can boost the unknown side of our body." </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> "We must have a full understanding and total set-up of our bodies.we need a full understanding and total-set up of our body. Everything works better if we deeply know our starting point," he added. "But, nothing is impossible if we already feel that we can do it." </span><br />

<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace; font-size: medium;">Eliud
Kipchoge, the reigning Olympic marathon champion, finished the
company-controlled race in two hours, 25 seconds--more than two
minutes better than the current world best. Still, his mark likely
won't be ratified as a world record, since Nike didn't obey
regulations on pacing and hydrating in its race. Two other runners,
Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia and Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea, fell out of
contention early and finished several minutes behind.</span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Nike invested years of research and had more than a dozen employees working on the project, dubbed Breaking 2, a multifaceted effort to engineer technically sophisticated footwear and prepare the three elite distance runners to break an iconic time barrier in sports. The race was staged on a Formula One racetrack in Monza, Italy, selected for its ideal climate for distance running, and Nike flew in dozens of other world-class runners to set the pace for the contestants.
Ultimately, the Breaking 2 race amounted to a two-hour live-stream program by Nike that was part commercial, part sporting event, and part foray into broadcasting with celebrity commentary. The race was shown across several social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
Nike didn't respond to questions regarding whether it will continue the project. In a statement, Chief Executive Mark Parker, who attended the marathon, said "this achievement represents more than a race. It's a moment of global inspiration that will encourage every athlete, in every community, to push the limits of their potential."
In the months before the event, Nike said it wouldn't consider it a failure if the runners didn't break two hours. Still, not meeting the ambitious time goal may thwart the company's plans to sell $250 carbon-plate running shoes--modeled after those worn Saturday by the pros--to the general public.
Breaking the two-hour marathon has become something of an arms race among top sportswear companies, with rival Adidas AG working on a similar project. The German company sponsors the current world record holder, Dennis Kimetto of Kenya, who ran 2:02:57 in 2014. Running under two hours would require a 2.4% improvement over Mr. Kimetto's record, a wide margin for a sport which typically sees world records broken by much smaller percentages. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Nike is the world's largest sports brand by revenue, though it has been struggling with sales in North America, its home market, amid a changing retail environment and a shift away from technical shoes toward more casual sneakers. That shift has favored Adidas, which this week reported a 31% jump in sales in the region for its most recent period.
Nike spends more than $3 billion each year on so-called demand creation expenses, which includes marketing and endorsement costs. In an interview with Runner's World published this week, Mr. Parker wouldn't quantify how much the company spent on the marathon race, saying it was expensive but "it's not like we're reckless sailors."
It isn't clear what is next for the three runners, who skipped the lucrative spring marathon season to focus on the Nike race. Jos Hermens, an agent representing Mr. Kipchoge, said in an interview last week that anything slower than the current world record "would be a failure."
It is the third time Mr. Kipchoge has fallen short when chasing a time goal, including at the Berlin Marathon in 2015 when the insoles of his Nike shoes fell apart and caused him to miss the world record by 63 seconds. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace; font-size: small; font-weight: normal;">In 2003, at 72, Whitlock became the first person 70 or
older to break 3:00 in the marathon, with a 2:59:10 at the Toronto Waterfront
Marathon. A year later, at 73, he lowered that 70+ best to 2:54:49. Over the
ensuing years, Whitlock set age-group marks in the 70+, 75+, 80+, and 85+ age
groups at distances from 1500 meters up through the marathon. Just last
October, at 85, he ran 3:56:33 at the Toronto Marathon, becoming the<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span>first in his age group to break

British-born Mr. Whitlock trained in a cemetery near his home in Milton,
Ontario, outside Toronto, running laps for three hours or more at a time in his
shuffling style. He had no coach, followed no special diet, did no stretching
except on the morning of a race, got no massages and took no medication, except
for a supplement for his knees.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span style="color: #333333; font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace; font-size: small;">The
training itself was drudgery, Mr. Whitlock said, and he did not run for his
health. He simply enjoyed setting records and getting attention. And those
records forced scientists and fellow runners to reassess the possibilities of<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span>aging and performance.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

battery of physiological tests at McGill University in Montreal. His
oxygen-carrying capacity was the highest ever recorded in the literature for
someone his age, scientists said. And his relative retention of muscle mass was
also considered remarkable.</span><o:p></o:p></span></div>

Frederick Whitlock was born in London on March 6, 1931. He ran a 4:34 mile as a
schoolboy, but an injury to the Achilles’ tendon in his right foot curtailed
his collegiate running career. Upon graduating in 1952 from the Royal School of
Mines at Imperial College in London, he moved to Canada for work and did not
run again seriously for nearly two decades, until he was 41.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">How about your running in 2016? Do you achieve your goal or not? In my cases, I just complete 43% of my previous distance target. Last year, my goal is to achieve 1,000 kilometer a year but I can't even reached 500 kilometer. It is ashamed that I thought the 1,000 kilometer is not really hard to achieved for a year. </span><br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJPvPqQj2vewmScbqV-2Lomnw71oX-yrow3JkTaMfcIZVS7oCymATFd_5aRrK9gvGM9bUnFu0Bh3rHGgRGYbNpW_6eYErmvr86rucpvGoaHW2rXPJ8GNIYEcAliZv-T9CXJXkiNUnCtRs/s1600/runkeeper-goal2017.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="336" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJPvPqQj2vewmScbqV-2Lomnw71oX-yrow3JkTaMfcIZVS7oCymATFd_5aRrK9gvGM9bUnFu0Bh3rHGgRGYbNpW_6eYErmvr86rucpvGoaHW2rXPJ8GNIYEcAliZv-T9CXJXkiNUnCtRs/s640/runkeeper-goal2017.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Let's calculate the target. In a year there are 52 weeks. If I could run 48 weeks and run 20 kilometer a week, I could run a total around 960 kilometer. And to add 40 kilometer is easy if I could manage it. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">But, what past is past. In 2017, I've target another goal. As I've failed the goal in 2016, I'm lower my expectation. As I could run 430 kilometer last year, I need to increase some percent of the target. I'm added to 600 kilometer next year which is almost 40% increase from my previous achievement. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">To achieve it, I need to be more consistent. Firstly, in first quarter (before Jun 2016), I need to finish at least 360 kilometer. Is it hard to achieve? If I could do it consistent I need to run 60 kilometer per month which mean I need to run at least 15 kilometer per week. Based on this calculation, I though I could achieve it if I do it properly like this :-</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Tuesday : 6 kilometer</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Thursday : 4 kilometer</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Saturday : 8 kilometer</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">If this amount could be follow it is not impossible to get the total amount before June. The hardest part is on fasting day that begin on Mei-June. So I need to do a slow jogging on that month. Maybe I need to push on January - April before Ramadhan.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Or maybe I could do at Gym on Ramadhan and running on treadmill.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">| <a href="http://running-my.blogspot.my/2015/10/am-i-need-treadmill.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Do you want to own a treadmill?</a> |</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">I'm also planning to do some Half Marathon this year. The important part is need to do <a href="http://running-my.blogspot.my/2015/12/25-tips-to-consistent-running.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">training consistently</a>. If not, is it impossible to do half marathon. For event I'm waiting for some event such as <a href="http://running-my.blogspot.my/2016/03/participate-in-fit-malaysia-fm-run.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Fit Malaysia</a> or participate in event that list on 2017. Hopefully I could achieve my target this year and hope no injury in my feet.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">I'm also target that I could reach pace below 7min/kilometer in some event. As now, I need to do more work as my pace now is bad. It is average 9.** min/kilometer in some training. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">I hope I could run and hold my breath at pace 8.** before continuing to fasten my pace. It is bad timing if the pace is not improve.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Other than that, I hope this blog could become a place for me to share my though of running and if possible, I hope it could return me some investment. Wish that I could buy some smartwatch such as <a href="http://amzn.to/2iPUv4T" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Garmin Forerunner</a> or <a href="http://amzn.to/2iPTEB9" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">FItbit</a>. It is hard to run with handphone .Buy for yourself this Garmin Fitbit or Epson Runsense and it will help me too.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">How about your running day? I'm not in good shape as in December I just run around 20 kilometer only. My aim for this year to run 1,000 kilometer also can't achieve as now the mileage is only 417 kilometer. It is only 41% complete from the total target. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I'm really upset about this achievement but it is not a fail.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Maybe I can't reached the target but it is still good year for me. This is 2nd year I'm involved in some running event and I learnt many things. Maybe next year I need to improve many things especially consistency and discipline. It is important if I want to be a good runner or maybe can catch up with some elite veteran runner.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Last Sunday I just participate in Colour Run 2 Ayer Molek, Melaka. It is a 7.55 kilometer running from JAPERUN Ayer Molek. The event has been organized by UMNO Ayer Molek. Okay, it is just about running and I don't think all of participant is BN people. The important thing is running and it doesn't matter your colour and your ideology. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">In this event I've clocked 57:44 minutes which is my average pace is 7:38 min/kilometer. Still good as I don't have proper training and my foot has pain. Maybe it is the last event for this year and I'll prepare for next year.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Hopefully I could participate in Skyhawk Melaka which is 21 kilometer. I want to challenge myself.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">This running event, I think I've facing problem. Honestly, I couldn't run 80% of the route. It is look like I can't bear the pain on my legs at 3-4 kilometer. I started walking on that kilometer and my running began slow. Need to change and do more training.</span>Zool Bloggerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15719212882729383072noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320606693421272731.post-68940634359609074272016-11-08T22:35:00.002+08:002016-11-08T22:35:42.418+08:00Runnning , Cycling , Swimming : Why I'm choose running<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Running, cycling and swimming is most popular leisure activity. In my country, it become a business as there's many event of running,cycling and swimming.
This sports also easy and anybody without athlete body could participate. This healthy sports also could become routine activity for us.
As you know, I'm choose running eventhough I could cycling and do some swim. But I choose running as my main sports activity because :-</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTIdZ2ys6v_MMp_yb83zRQsyb2UEgo-QINv7P5EHH4Pc_VlVs60OocRECRdxMu7Nkw6zaiu8pROdxxYpVD_GwrDHJ2bYi-5BspDaWPWSnBf1VtAvmQ3julJ8k7vvc7ZrqbbX1jJ6BW340/s1600/running-marathon.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTIdZ2ys6v_MMp_yb83zRQsyb2UEgo-QINv7P5EHH4Pc_VlVs60OocRECRdxMu7Nkw6zaiu8pROdxxYpVD_GwrDHJ2bYi-5BspDaWPWSnBf1VtAvmQ3julJ8k7vvc7ZrqbbX1jJ6BW340/s1600/running-marathon.JPG" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> 1) It is easy. I could running in specific place and do the activity after work. It is hard for me to cycling after work or go to pool for swimming activity. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> 2) Cheaper. I think running is the cheapest activity. Just get a sportwear such as t-shirt, tracksuit and running shoe. If possible, I could bring pouch bag to put my key and phone.
For cycling activity I need to have a bicycle that cost more than RM1,000. I could buy bicycle that cost around RM500 but the bicycle is not suitable for uphill activity. It also need a safeguard ,helmet and other safety clothes that cost more.
Maybe swimming look cheaper as it only need google and pants but it ain't easy to book for swimming pool. Some of them cost more than RM10 per hour.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> 3) Running is easy. I don't need too much skill. You will need experience to run faster than before and breath as your pace. It is different from swimming which need much skill such as breath, swing your arm and other. Cycling don't need too much skill but you must have the quality to pull the pedal. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> 4) Running is light. You can walk if you can't while swimming ain't easy to relax and cyclist also can't relax easily..
Okay, that's some reason why I choose running other than cycling or swimming. How about you?</span>Zool Bloggerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15719212882729383072noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320606693421272731.post-48319771183496239752016-10-20T00:21:00.000+08:002016-10-20T00:21:29.092+08:0085 year old clocked below 4 hours Marathon<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I'm still not ready yet to run Marathon or half marathon but reading the news about 85 year old uncle give me inspiration.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Mr, <b><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Whitlock" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Ed Whitlock </a></b>of Milton, Ontario is 85 year old but still can run the marathon which is more than 42 kilometer. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">In the event at <a href="http://www.torontowaterfrontmarathon.com/en/index.htm" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Toronto's Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon</a>, he managed to set a world record for his age group as he finished the marathon in just 3 hours, 56 minutes and 33.2 seconds.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Eventhough, he broke the record he still not satisfied. His goal was to run around 3:50.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">His story on running started while he still teenager but stop at the age of 21. He just start running again until he was 40.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Whitlock said the incentive to set records in his age group keeps him running.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Even his running shoes have reached those milestones along with him. In the Marathon, he said he wore a pair he's had for around 20 years.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">He is marvelous as his pace is almost 5:35km/minutes in his age. Maybe if I'm running alongside him, I'll cry as I cant catch him.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">30 Reason to Running? Wow!! I don't ever think about it. <a href="http://greatist.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Greatist</a> has give the reason. Just read the point :-</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>1. Do it anywhere.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Run, that is. Whether on the treadmill or in the park, it’s easy to rack up miles. Even better: Lace up your sneakers on your next vacation to explore a new place.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>2. Make new friends.</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQInpfQ90SHqBVDrxhPWTQnvy5TNFYcxt7pRuQwhO8JsunOTHEB5VNekI4ZQ9Sxv0YEnM4s191j2jZrZ4BBQ1aaO3pJGeMZi3BnbaznyrQHCvMPkRiUiALM905AsobrCro9eW713WX5cQ/s1600/Make+Running+Fun+-+Friend.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="408" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQInpfQ90SHqBVDrxhPWTQnvy5TNFYcxt7pRuQwhO8JsunOTHEB5VNekI4ZQ9Sxv0YEnM4s191j2jZrZ4BBQ1aaO3pJGeMZi3BnbaznyrQHCvMPkRiUiALM905AsobrCro9eW713WX5cQ/s640/Make+Running+Fun+-+Friend.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Tired of meeting duds at the bar? Check out local running groups or websites like Meetup and hit the road with other health-minded folks. Twenty questions is just as good during a run (boozy brunches afterward are optional).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>3. Save some cash.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Forget fancy equipment or a pricey gym membership. When it comes to running, all you need is the right footwear.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">|<a href="http://running-my.blogspot.my/2015/07/how-to-choose-running-shoe.html" target="_blank">How to choose running shoe </a>|</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>4. Visit the doctor less.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Apples aren't the only things that keep the doctor away. Active people are less likely to develop colon cancer. And ladies, women who regularly engage in intense workouts like running can reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 30 percent.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>5. Eat more carbs.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Here's an excuse to slurp up more spaghetti: During intense training (like preparing for a race), increasing carb intake can help your performance and boost your mood during harder runs. 0</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>6. Keep it interesting.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Forget boring laps around a track. Interval training helps boost metabolism and rev cardiovascular fitness. Bonus: Research shows people who do intervals have more fun while running (really!) and might be more likely to keep it up. 1</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>7. Live longer.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Not only do runners have fewer disabilities and remain active longer than their sedentary counterparts, but they actually live longer too. And even as weekly running times decrease with age, the healthy benefits keep on ticking. 2</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>8. Get primal.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Turns out Bruce Springsteen was right: We were born to run. Running turned us from apes to humans and was used by our ancestors to elude prey.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>9. Feel the burn.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">For a 160-pound person, running can burn more than 850 calories an hour.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>10. Bring sexy back.</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ3QbEAIRsgAHpxHkbX10fT6niXBYeEcEXXkbeqyJrPrJgkbq5hbDBW0d7M9FCiAdPEKl8mOfO_MEoi17yfcASTEhqDkoDhx4VL5VFW1zP3tsBSUccm5Sg5d5EdcBFM1xhyCo2sZUw-kE/s1600/running-can-help-with-back-pain.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ3QbEAIRsgAHpxHkbX10fT6niXBYeEcEXXkbeqyJrPrJgkbq5hbDBW0d7M9FCiAdPEKl8mOfO_MEoi17yfcASTEhqDkoDhx4VL5VFW1zP3tsBSUccm5Sg5d5EdcBFM1xhyCo2sZUw-kE/s640/running-can-help-with-back-pain.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Not only does having a rockin’ runner’s bod boost confidence in bed, but regular exercise can also help flexibility between the sheets—and get you in the mood more often.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>11. Boost memory.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Exercise has been shown to help keep the mind sharp. Hitting the track might also reduce symptoms of dementia and protect the brain against <a href="http://yourhealthblog.net/infographic-alzheimers-disease-facts-figures/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Alzheimer’s</a>, even for those with a family history of it. 3</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>12. See the sunny side.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Active folks see the glass as half full, even after they're done sweating. 4</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>13. Get a natural glow.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Believe it or not, working up a sweat can rid your pores of the gunk that clogs them and leads to breakouts. 5 A solid sweat session can also boost natural oils, keeping things fresh and healthy. (Just remember to remove makeup preworkout and wash gently afterward to avoid breakouts.)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>14. Improve self-esteem.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Need another excuse to go green? Runners who ran outside and snagged a good view of nature showed increased self-esteem post-workout than those who had only unpleasant scenes to gaze at. 6 Ahem, dreadmill.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>15. Stay steady.</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMXZGpQ9CRfHmHW1-UyC-HMLZ3mdKSGz9L-twlnwKTifcRILCzr7zYTEa4lynUJfQ42enRv6jUHQvZFSDDTjKb4rXlXw03RJYjsDlFUXje8kmkMhCEtLaNzQp8UpeDvW4Rrj7r8x9pjv0/s1600/older_runner_400x300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMXZGpQ9CRfHmHW1-UyC-HMLZ3mdKSGz9L-twlnwKTifcRILCzr7zYTEa4lynUJfQ42enRv6jUHQvZFSDDTjKb4rXlXw03RJYjsDlFUXje8kmkMhCEtLaNzQp8UpeDvW4Rrj7r8x9pjv0/s400/older_runner_400x300.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Older runners keep their balance better than nonrunners, protecting their knees and tendons in the process. Be careful not to overdo it, though: Too much exercise can lead to stress injuries and bone loss. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>16. Turn down the pressure.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Running is a natural way to keep high blood pressure at bay—and fast. Amping up workouts can help lower blood pressure in just a few weeks. 8</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>17. Build stronger bones.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Resistance training is awesome, but word on the street is running might help produce even stronger bones than cranking out reps. 9 Running helps build the muscle that lower-impact workouts ignore, keeping bones healthier even as they age.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>18. Get an energy boost.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Feeling sluggish? Try going for a jog instead of lounging on the couch. Just one run can increase energy and decrease fatigue. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>19. Take your furry friends.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Dogs are man’s best friend for a reason, and they can be man’s best workout buddy too. Grab a leash and give your pet a new kind of treat.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>20. Strengthen that core.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">A strong core improves posture, strengthens limbs, and helps make everyday activities a breeze. And whether you feel it or not, running engages your midsection, strengthening those all-important muscles. Bonus: A solid core can improve performance. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>21. Sleep better.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Runners tend to adapt to set sleeping routines in order to keep performance high. Even better: Running encourages higher quality sleep, which translates into better sleep all night long. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>22. Do it year-round.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">You can rack up the miles no matter what the weatherman says (just dress appropriately!). Temperatures still not just right? Jazz up the ol’ treadmill run to get the same health benefits indoors.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>23. Jam out to speed up.</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg49QlcLyIna20vgFzijN_Q3uPM1NPIwSWjGQ9Ng0Na2Sp-lSg3tXw4Rivcokftx7FY6pLLbpWYovp_JNE5qo8elfFZj6GpO_tvV4IjFHjvbDZA6Kn2_7D6l3rJdxP_QrsWQqET83tp510/s1600/WATERPROOF-HEADPHONES-FOR-RUNNING-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="430" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg49QlcLyIna20vgFzijN_Q3uPM1NPIwSWjGQ9Ng0Na2Sp-lSg3tXw4Rivcokftx7FY6pLLbpWYovp_JNE5qo8elfFZj6GpO_tvV4IjFHjvbDZA6Kn2_7D6l3rJdxP_QrsWQqET83tp510/s640/WATERPROOF-HEADPHONES-FOR-RUNNING-2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Pop in headphones when running to increase speed and get a little energy boost. We won’t even judge your playlist.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>24. Check off those goals</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Studies suggest people who set and meet (or exceed) long-term fitness goals (like signing up for a half-marathon!) are more committed and satisfied with their exercise routines than those who trudge along aimlessly. Who doesn’t feel good about crossing items off their bucket list?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>25. Show your heart some loving.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">People who run for just an hour a week can reduce their risk of heart disease by almost half compared to nonrunners. And for those already hitting the recommended physical activity guidelines (that's 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity each week), an extra spurt of exercise can lower your risk of heart disease even more. (Just be mindful not to overdo it and cause more damage than good.)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>26. Run stress away.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Ready to pull your hair out? Instead of tuning in to a brainless reality TV marathon, try running an actual marathon. Not only does running boost the brain’s serotonin levels, regular exercise might actually remodel the brain, making it calmer and more stress resistant. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>27. Be one with nature.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Want to feel the grass tickle your toes? Try minimalist sneakers or nothing at all. Just be sure to ease into this type of running to avoid injuries.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>28. Increase stamina.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Running regularly will improve stamina, making workouts more enjoyable and productive. And let’s not forget that lasting longer isn’t restricted to the track—it’s useful in, uh, other areas as well.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>29. Get there faster.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Instead of a leisurely evening stroll, try a jog around the neighborhood instead. It’ll burn more calories in the same amount of time.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>30. Sound like a pro.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Get in the know with our list of running lingo. Ready, set, run!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">So, there's no excuse for us to not Running. Let's run now</span></div>

It sound weird but <a href="http://www.runnersworld.com/running-tips/10-bad-runner-habits-and-how-to-break-them" target="_blank">RunnersWorld.com</a> have given 10 bad runner habits and I'll like to share it :-</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPzUxXYxF050r4k8p0e9H2b_Apqvu3ET-pniq-VEPWXH0mTlMfyIUtonPHSxiedzKKkSjwuFN7SuyyGZfPrKuu3CmI9DCI76oRD5dFi9YuJKIqMSn3pzxRffKLu8XDE-GERPFEb5k7EDQ/s1600/girl-running.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPzUxXYxF050r4k8p0e9H2b_Apqvu3ET-pniq-VEPWXH0mTlMfyIUtonPHSxiedzKKkSjwuFN7SuyyGZfPrKuu3CmI9DCI76oRD5dFi9YuJKIqMSn3pzxRffKLu8XDE-GERPFEb5k7EDQ/s640/girl-running.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
</b><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><b>1) Running too much too soon.</b> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">- The point is you come back to run too early after your injury. Yup, I'm agree that we need time to recover before running again. One of my friends have an experience coming too soon after injury and the pain is come even for 1st kilometer.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><b>2) Refueling badly. </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">- Okay, some of us just eating much after big hard runs. You just need to grab a high-carb snack then a meal with carbs and protein to rebuild muscle. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">3) Forgoing SPF </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">- Sun exposure can be good but you need sunscreen on runs longer than 20 minute. Get the Sport Sunscreen lotion <a 5="" a="" core="" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6DorYn0uGQ" minute="" t.="" target="_blank" this="" watch="" workout="">here</a> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span><b>
4) Ignoring your core </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">- Study found that if you did core exercises four times a week for six weeks ran a 5K 30 seconds faster than those who didn''t. Watch this 5 minute core workout <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6DorYn0uGQ" target="_blank">here</a></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">
</span><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">5) Starting a race too fast </span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">- Don't start too fast. This is my mistake while I'm on beginner mode. I just try to run like other's professional and after 1kilometer I'm exhausted. Bring your smartphone or buy a GPS watch such as <a href="http://amzn.to/2dlsF0W" target="_blank">Garmin ForeRunner</a>.
It is important as you can see your actual pace. I'm a slow runner and I know my pace after using Runkeeper on my phone. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><b>6) Being your own doctor </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">- If you don't have any medical qualification, don't tend to know about it. Sometimes minor injuries could turn into serious one. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><b>7) Skipping stretching </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">- You can run but doing stretching could help to loosen muscle and prevent injuries. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><b>8) Not getting enough sleep </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">- Adequate sleeping is important before running. Log your sleep time in your training journal and look for patterns. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><b>9) Not rest enough</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"> - Overtraining can lead many problems such as injury. Your body has limit and you need to have rest. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><b>10) Fixing it all </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">- There's plenty advice on how to become good runner. So, let's fix it.

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I just registered to participate in JCI Charity Eco Run 2016. The event will be held on 9th October 2016 at Hutan Rekreasi, Ayer Keroh, Melaka and the distance is 5km.
Before this, I've think to much whether to participate or not. It is because the fee is a bit expensive. RM60.00 for 5 kilometer is a bit expensive. But I think I need to participate because my first running event is last year <a href="http://running-my.blogspot.my/2015/08/aim-for-1st-run-charity-eco-run-2015.html" target="_blank">JCI Melaka Eco Run</a>.
The organizer is same and the place is familiar for me as I've run every week at that place.
I've my own target to improve my personal best (PB). </span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Hopefully I could run below 40 minute as last year my record is 47:54 minute for those 5.14 kilometer and average pace is 9:19minutes/km.
I think I could beat the past record but I hope I could pass below 40 minutes as last week performance is 44:10 minutes for 5.57 kilometer and average pace is 7:56. I need to run around at least 7:50 min/kilometer.
That's all. For more info, go to JCI Melaka Charity Eco Run at <a href="http://jcimce.org/" target="_blank">http://jcimce.org/</a></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Last week, I've to attend closing SUKMA 2016 event at Sarawak. One of my plan is to running at the course.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">On last day (Monday), I've decided to run from my hotel (Abell Hotel) through route and beside the Kuching Waterfront.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQc7nOOJZ9P37GmY7YP9AFjCbQMwD53_XQ9z_tK2yySvo6OPKg0kgThCXRlqVqocOViXCo7-AH-BzLMvAFB1W9QEQerl89sURoLCl2bxuIvjmT1X57G4zvhpjBCfzrRzVVUqWjxibJvgw/s1600/kuching-waterfront_7406864_l.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQc7nOOJZ9P37GmY7YP9AFjCbQMwD53_XQ9z_tK2yySvo6OPKg0kgThCXRlqVqocOViXCo7-AH-BzLMvAFB1W9QEQerl89sURoLCl2bxuIvjmT1X57G4zvhpjBCfzrRzVVUqWjxibJvgw/s640/kuching-waterfront_7406864_l.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Honestly, the route is not very hard but I don't push hard as I need stamina for back home. The scene is nice as I've look at the river.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I've stop at some road as I've found a banner for <i><a href="http://marathonkuching.com/">marathonkuching.com</a></i> . Wish I could join the event but it is impossible for me as it is far away from my place and I don't have budget to go Sarawak for running.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">My distance is 3.61 kilometer within the duration 30:38 minutes and average pace is 8:29 minutes.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">It is my first time running far away from my place. Before this I just running at Melaka and the farthest is border Melaka and Negeri Sembilan. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">That's all for today. </span>Zool Bloggerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15719212882729383072noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320606693421272731.post-5032481423266158002016-07-25T08:52:00.000+08:002016-07-25T08:52:01.186+08:00Average Half Marathon Times by World Masters Athletics Organization<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">I'm not ready yet on half marathon but I think it is good to share this information as a motivational. This is the table Average Half Marathon Times by <i><a href="http://www.world-masters-athletics.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">World Masters Athletics Organization</a></i> (WMA) and the USA Track and Field Masters Long Distance Running Committee to benchmark their athletes.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVSEoTX9Twr40dGZTs9DRBC7VwhHETWYhQweA7cR8P3Y1CryKFu8f9VBrenMKIaajklIkKZCnn2V9tmRBFroLHnWcIv7NVdZ2IYdva1F9IwfS15z5qXVgpg4BdLloDSMRBdqdBoD-Rlsw/s1600/half-marathon-averagetime.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVSEoTX9Twr40dGZTs9DRBC7VwhHETWYhQweA7cR8P3Y1CryKFu8f9VBrenMKIaajklIkKZCnn2V9tmRBFroLHnWcIv7NVdZ2IYdva1F9IwfS15z5qXVgpg4BdLloDSMRBdqdBoD-Rlsw/s400/half-marathon-averagetime.jpg" width="341" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Based on the table, the average time for my age (38.7) is around 2:01:37. I don't think I could reach the time. It shows that I need to have 5:47 min/km to reach that time.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">My Personal Best Time is around 7.++ and it is far away. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Okay, the timing is just for motivational only and I'm runner for health. Not to win.So, my target is to try compete in half marathon next year. Don't care about timing. I just want to participate and finish it. That's all.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">For those competitor runner, maybe the table is good for your reference.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">To know your pace, try this <a href="http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/4/4_1/96.shtml" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">pace calculator</a> . Before try your first 'Half-Marathon' , learn some basic thing from the book below </span><br />

I'm accompanied by one of my #TeamPuncheat friend. First kilometers, I've tried to do some pace and he could chase me. He is tall man which is 1.8 meter height. But he hasn't run almost a year so maybe he need some training to back in shape.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">My distance is 4.98 kilometer which is a short 0.02 kilometer from my target to finish 5 kilometer. It is okay as long I could run. The duration of this training is 39:27 minute and the average pace is 7:56 min/kilometers.</span><br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyDmbSeudJfR-fmfND05Oczz4gzM5yIWcgemhGRn0st6m52KkCTg2msa6Wfk6izxM30tumGJ8xn-okqyJy9DYN2D5Pxuma48izgA6uWdWTRyAMEpxfeavYMVcQhUTUvgDsTeOnnyfKPnM/s1600/run-tuesday.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="435" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyDmbSeudJfR-fmfND05Oczz4gzM5yIWcgemhGRn0st6m52KkCTg2msa6Wfk6izxM30tumGJ8xn-okqyJy9DYN2D5Pxuma48izgA6uWdWTRyAMEpxfeavYMVcQhUTUvgDsTeOnnyfKPnM/s640/run-tuesday.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">This is a good result but need to train hard as my target is getting below 8 min/km consistently. From this run, it show that my pace slow drastically in 3-4 kilometer as it reached 8:27 min/km. Maybe it happen as I'm running alone after my friend can't catch with my pace. I'm stop walking about 20-30 seconds and it is improvement from my first running after Ramadhan. Maybe some of Rendang still not burned.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Okay, that's some summary of my running result. Let's running and Keep Fit. For those in Batu Pahat, go and join Fit Malaysia Run at<a href="http://rjevents.com.my/?MID=113&SEARCH=&ORDER=7&CID=&RID=1533#anchor113" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> RJEvents.com.my</a> . I want to participate but not ready yet especially to run outside Melaka.</span><br />
